Once again, many students have outstanding results, some of them shown in the photograph below:
Special congratulations go to Nazifa ZAMAN (8x A*, 3x A), Husam AL MALIKI (7x A*, 4x A), Caner ARSLAN (6x A*, 4x A), Ilayda KAYARDI (3x A*, 7x A), Mahli JACOB-PETERS (1x A*, 9xA), Done-Helen DOGAN (3x A*, 7x A) and Nabiha CHOUDHRY (2x A*, 6x A). Husam has also achieved a very rare ‘A* Distinction’ in Further Maths.
Making the most progress since primary school is Kacper CHYTRA (3x A, 4x B, 3x C) whose outcomes are 4 grades higher for each of his subjects when compared to national progress expectations.
The new DfE benchmark for school performance is ‘Progress 8’ which measures the progress of students across 8 qualifying subjects. The estimated outcome for Progress 8 is +0.5 which means that on average students at NPCS have achieved half a grade better than national expectations across each of their 8 qualifying subjects.
Despite the increased challenge which has been added to GCSE exams, the proportion of students attaining A*-C grades in English & Maths has increased to 44%.
Our results in 2016 confirm that students at NPCS make excellent progress during their 5 years at NPCS. Our more able students achieve the highest grades, placing them in a strong position to compete for places at the most prestigious UK universities and for the most competitive degree courses.
