“Into Film” – Cinema Trip
This week a lucky group of year 7s and 8s (plus two of our year 10 librarians) got to visit the Hackney Picture House as part of ‘Into Film’ – one of the UK’s leading educational film charities. The students got to watch a screening of ‘Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ – a new prequel to the Hunger Games film franchise.
The students absolutely loved the experience and had a fantastic time; they will now be reviewing the film and looking forward to their next trip – you never know, we may have some budding filmmakers in our midst!
Year 11 – PSHEe Drop Down Day
Last week our year 11 students experienced their second PSHEe “Drop Down Day” of the academic year with representatives from ‘Yes Matters’ and ‘Catch 22’. The students engaged in a number of workshops and activities with both organisations, the former looking at gender and relationships as well as coercive control whilst the second organisation exploring relationships, risk and the law.
All students engaged with the workshops and were able to contribute in a wide variety of ways to these vitally important topics.
