On Tuesday 8th July the Music Department held an end of year summer concert to bring the academic year to a musical close. The concert involved a number of students and staff performers showcasing their various talents to parents, dignitaries and peers.
Joseph Nicholson-Porter (Year 10) said: ‘I think it was a thrilling experience and I learnt a lot. I would like to do it again. I enjoy playing the piano it makes me happy to perform.’
The concert programme included a diverse range of artists including; Bach, Randy Crawford and Bon Jovi. The performers came together to create a vibrant night that satisfied the eclectic musical palettes of the audience.
Ms Harvey created a wonderful array of photos and videos that really enhanced the performance. The evening was made evermore vibrant by the dynamic lighting display compliments of Mr Bawden.
‘It was an outstanding showcase enabling students and staff to show off their untapped potential. Being a part of the concert was an excellent way to relax after a hectic but fulfilling year.’ – Mrs S. Bailey
‘It was a wonderful concert and it was lovely to see a mix of students and staff working together and enjoying themselves. The audience thoroughly enjoyed it. Same time next year!’ – Ms E Scoggins
The Music Department would like to thank all of the staff and student performers together with all of the people that supported us to organise and facilitate the show. You did an excellent job and we could not have done it without you. Thank You!
