The Bus That Went To War

The History department have been working on a project with Year 9 students.

The project has been run by the London Transport Museum at no expense to the school. The group have used the buses that transported the soldiers to the Somme as a way of telling the story of young men from Tottenham who went to fight a hundred years ago.

Our students have produced some amazing work as a result and it is due to go on show in Bruce Castle Museum from October until December from then it will go on tour.

The project is not stand alone and will run in total for 5 years. As a result of their hard work they have been nominated for the Lottery Heritage Fund and are hoping to win the award. They have already beaten off stiff competition: there were 600 entries to the Awards, and there are only seven finalists in the Heritage category. Winning the award now depends on ensuring supporters spread the word and vote.

Voting is quick and simple.
